write - revise - publish - promote

While writing is a solitary pursuit, you don’t have to manage the process alone. - Kerstin March

Are you a writer who is struggling with plot points or character development? Maybe you’re preparing to self-publish or submit to an agent / publisher, but you’d like someone to give your manuscript one last review? Or are you gearing up for your book release and would like assistance building your author platform or promoting your new book in mainstream, trade, or social media?

I can help.

I get it. I’ve been in your shoes. As an internationally published author who has built a career in public relations, I understand the demands placed on writers — not only to craft the “perfect” manuscript, but also to promote the book once it is released into the world.

You don’t have to do it alone.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT

This is a “big picture” review that would help a writer who is looking for input once a solid draft is ready for review. My feedback would include some editing marks (grammar, punctuation, etc.), but the primary focus is story development.

Types of edits would include:

  • Pacing / Consistency

  • Plot Points / Story Arc

  • Character Development / Voice

  • Any larger issues that would help strengthen your story.

LINE EDIT

This is a focused edit that takes place once your novel is fully developed and you need polish before submitting it to an agent or publisher — or going on to self publish.

Types of edits would include:

  • Word Choice / Grammar

  • Formatting / Style

  • Sentence structure

  • Consistency

BOOK PROMOTION

CONGRATULATIONS — You have a book coming out!
That’s the great news. The unexpected challenge for many authors, however, is taking on the additional responsibility of building an author platform and generating publicity via an author site, social media, book events, and press outreach.

I can offer you the following support:

  • Social Media (memes; graphics; messaging)

  • Media Relations (media list development; press release; media pitches)

  • Event Planning (book launch; book talks; book clubs)

INTERESTED? LET’S TALK!

Simply send me an email describing your book and project needs and then let’s set a time to talk about how we can reach your book goals. I look forward to hearing from you — and, better yet, reading your story!
